Everything was effortless and excellent until our ride back to the hotel. Our hotel shuttle was the fourth hotel shuttle we saw so we started to get a little impatient but really it wasn't that long, and our shuttle driver from the airport to the hotel was a little erratic - maybe in a hurry is a better word. He stepped on the brakes a lot, and on Century, when a car in his lane stopped at the green light because he was trying to get into the left-turn lane, the driver stepped on the brake hard and honked his horn until he got to the stopped car. That was scary. He was a long ways away when he started braking. My husband and I wondered whether he had had a choice of just going around, but we were hanging on tight and couldn't really see what was happening in front. The driver was courteous to us. We wondered if he was trying to make up for some other delay and going too fast. Again, it felt scary but might have been unavoidable. We just couldn't help wonder whether a little more defensive driving would have saved us the scare.
